Becoming an NYSFTD member is simple. Click the JOIN button in the navigation bar to complete your membership application and pay the monthly dues of $9.99. Once your payment is confirmed, your account will be activated and you'll gain access to the full member portal.

If your membership payment is overdue, your account status will show as Pending Payment. You will receive an email reminder from NYSFTD. Your member portal access and benefits remain accessible until formally deactivated by an administrator.

NYSFTD has partnered with NYAB (New York's leading TLC insurance brokerage) to offer exclusive discounted insurance rates for active members. Members typically save hundreds of dollars annually on required TLC liability coverage.

NYSFTD advocates collectively for driver rights and offers access to legal resources for TLC-related matters including license hearings, fare disputes, and regulatory challenges. For specific legal advice, we connect members with appropriate legal aid organizations familiar with for-hire vehicle law.

NYSFTD is working with energy and charging network partners to bring discounted EV charging to over 50 locations across NYC for FHV drivers. Once the network launches, eligible members will receive enrollment details via email and through the member portal Benefits tab.

The Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the New York City agency responsible for licensing and regulating for-hire vehicles and their drivers. The TLC sets rules on:
NYSFTD actively monitors TLC rule changes and advocates for policies that protect driver livelihoods. We attend TLC hearings and submit formal comments on behalf of our membership.
Active members can vote on open polls through the member portal. Log in, then navigate to the Vote tab. All currently open polls will be listed there. Each member may cast one vote per poll. Results are shown after you vote.
